Present Simple

1st/2nd/3rd Person - Verb Inflections
Present Continous
S + VTB + present participle + O
for the continuous tense, a present participle, which is a verb form ending in “-ing”, is used in conjunction with a form of the verb “to be” to express an ongoing action
Present Perfect Simple
S + have/has + past participle
He has ‘done’ all of his work. - indicates a past action or state that has a connection to the present
Present Perfect Continous
S + have/has + been + present participle (verb + -ing)
describes an action that began in the past and is still ongoing, with a connection to the present
Past Simple
S + V + O
1st/2nd/3rd Person. Regular + Irregular Verbs. *describes actions that were completed in the past
Past Continous
S + VTB + present participle + O
VTB - WAS/WERE *describes an action that was in progress at a specific time in the past
Past Perfect Simple
S + had + past partciple
used to describe an action that was completed before another action in the past
Past Perfect Continous
S + had + been + present participle
describes an action that began in the past and continued for a period of time up to another point in the past
Future Simple
S + WILL + V + O
used to express actions or situations that will happen in the future
Future Continous
S + WILL + be + present participle
expresses an action that will be ongoing at a specific time in the future
Future Perfect Simple
S + WILL/WON’T + have + past participle
describes an action that will be completed before a specific time in the future
Future Perfect Continous
S + WILL/WON’T + have + been + present participle
describes an action that will be in progress for a certain period of time at a specific point in the future
