Section 3 : LANDING

Non normal - how to calc OPT figs
to ensure you can stop & make go around gradient

A

To ensure G/A climb gradient is achievable

  • 2 engine Perf - NON FAILURE
  • Flap 20 Engine out
  • MEL / OVERWEIGHT

Calculates most limiting & distance increments

What Limitations need to be observed 7 items…

A
  • Snow + temp ABOVE -5℃ = SLUSH
  • Refer to FCTM 3.14 for XWind guidelines
(OPT will warn if Xwind is exceeded)
  • FULL THRUST T/O
  • Eng A/I on
  • Use FULL LENGTH
  • Min Runway & Cleared width 45m (150M)
  • If not fully cleared consider it contamtd with whatever hasn’t been cleared
  • TW > 5kts not recommended

MSA Bandwidths are …

…might you go below FPlan MSA?

A
  • Normal flight plan 10nm either side of trk
  • RNP5 A/C MSA for Driftdown and depress can be reduced to 5nm
  • A/C may descend below flight plan MSA as this is the highest between 2 waypoints
  • Actual terrain clearance is calculated under the procedure (see procedures for actual MSA)
