Define

Gas pressure

A

Pressure exterted by a gas colliding with the walls of it’s container.Unlike with liquids , gases expand to fill their container, exterting equal pressure on all sides

Define

Liquid pressure

A

Pressure exterted by a liquid colliding with the walls of it’s container.Unlike with gas, liquid particles are more affected by gravity, therefore making more pressure exterted on the bottom of the container than the bottom.

Q

Define

Atomspheric pressure

A

Atmospheric pressure is the pressure exerted by the weight of the atmosphere, which at sea level has a mean value of 101,325 N/m²/Pa

Q

How does upthurst make something float

A

If the density of the object is greater than the density of the fluid, the liquid cannot create enough upthrust that will hold its weight up so it sinks. However,if the upthrust is larger than the weight of the object, the object will rise.
