Was the Ulster success or a failure?
The ulster plantation was more successful than both the Laois-Offaly plantation and the Munster plantation
Name three reasons the ulster plantation was more successful
Due to the high numbers of settlers (40000 Scot’s), Ulster became the plantation most loyal to the Crown.
The Protestant population increased.
Over 20 new towns were founded during the Ulster Plantation (such as Enniskillen, Donegal, and these were very well planned out. Markets were also organised in towns to sell produce
New farming methods were introduced. Crops were favoured over cattle farming.
