Relationship between USA+USSr: Cuban missile crisis

A

the Cuban Missile Crisis, brought the USA and USSR to the brink of nuclear war. The USSR had placed nuclear missiles in Cuba, . After a tense standoff and negotiations, the crisis was resolved when the USSR agreed to remove the missiles in exchange for a U.S. promise not to invade Cuba and the secret removal of U.S. missiles from Turkey.
