what is anarchy?
a state of disorder due to absence of recognition of authority or other controlling system.
what is dictatorship?
where someone is constantly incharge through military power usually gained during a coup.
what is a one party state?
a system of government where only one political party is persistent.
what is theocracy?
a system of government where priests rule in the name if religion.
what are rights?
the rules/laws in place to protect something.
what is freedom?
the ability to do what you want to a limit without legal action.
what are responsibilities?
the tasks you have to do as a member of a community.
what is rule of law?
the rules which help the law aka to make society better so the law has to follow set rules like police have to have a warrant before entering a house.
what is the prime minister?
the person who is leading that party and has won the election.
what is the government/ executives?
a group of people responsible for administering a country/state.
what is the monarchy?
the royal family.
what is the cabinet?
senior officials who serve as advisors to the head of government.
what is legislature?
to make or extract laws.
what is the civil service?
the people within the government to help control things. their hired not elected.
what is the opposition?
the second largest party going against the main party.
what are political parties?
more than one group campaigning to get into power.
what are the police?
the people who protect and serve to make sure no laws are broken and ensures the safety of civilians.
what is the judiciary?
the judges, lawyers etc who are their to make sure everything is fair.
what is the constitution?
a body of fundamental principles according to which a state is acknowledges to be governed.
what is a unwritten or uncodified constitution?
a constitution exists but isn’t written down in a formal document usually made up of different sources of law and customs
what is a bye election?
a election held in one single constituency to fill a vacancy arising during a governments term in office.
What is a safe seat?
A parliamentary seat which is likely to be retained with a large majority in the next election.
What is a marginal seat?
A seat held with a small minority.
What is a proportional voting system?
The number of voters given to a party at an election is reflected in number of people elected.
