A

What is Field Theory?

A

The organism must be seen in their ENVIRONMENT/CONTEXT as part of their constantly evolving field

What are figure and ground?

A

Figure- aspects of individual’s self-experience that are CONSCIOUS; Ground- Aspects of self-experience which are OUT OF ONE’S CONSCIOUSNESS- the therapist may pay attention to either one of these two

What is the figure formation process?

A

When diff aspects of the environment emerge from the background and become a part of the individuals’ interest. G-Therapists helps to move away/toward this figure of interest

What is Organismic Self Regulation?

A

When the equilibrium of the individual is lost for some reason, the person loses the ability to self regulate; therapist must use figure formtn process to bring back ability to self regulate
