  • to substitute the person/thing that is receiving the action of the verb e.g Emily saw me
  • Emily vio a mi madre (personal ‘a’ before mother because she is not the subject)

- denote person receiving something, but not the thing being received - used for verbs that work like ‘gustar’ e.g me interesa etc.

- indirect pronoun changes to se

How to know if someone is the indirect object Yo digo algo a mi novio Yo veo algo a mi amiga ❌
- add the word “algo” after the verb, if the sentence makes sense, algo is the direct object and the person is the indirect object - Yo le digo algo ✅ - La yo veo ✅

When do you use prepositional pronouns?
- after a preposition - a, ante, bajo, cabe, con, para, cerca de, entre, hasta, por, según, sobre etc.

When is sí used?
When the pronoun refers back to the person who is the subject of the verb, otherwise subject pronoun is used E.g Maria had the parcel in front of her María tenía el paquete delante de sí (in front of her)
