- use present tense verb + desde hace + period of time (not a singular date)
- Vivo aquí desde hace 4 años
What is an alternative way to express an ongoing action using llevar?
I have been learning Spanish for 6 months
Llevar (present tense )+ time + action in gerund

When an action had been ongoing in the past, and was still ongoing when something else happened, what hace thing do you use?
E.g we had been living there for 4 years when Jamie was born
Imperfect action + desde hacía + gerund
Vivíamos aquí desde hacía 4 años cuando Jaime nació.
How do you express something happening since a time/the moment in the past when an action started?
E.g Since their marriage/thursday they have been living together.
E.g Since they got married, they have been living together
Desde + date/occasion (e.g desde las 3, el viernes, 1988, esta mañana, ayer NOT A PERIOD OF TIME) + present tense/imperfect (action still occurring)
e.g desde su casamiento conviven

For something that happened for a period of time but it is now completed
