Proximal Tib Flashcards
(10 cards)
What is the classification for tibial plateau fractures?
Schatzker classification
What are the types of schatzker classification?
Type 1= Lateral split Type 2= Lateral split with depression Type 3= Central depression Type 4= Medial split Type 5= Bicondylar split Type 6= Dissociation of metaphysis and diaphysis
What plate is indicated in schatzker 1-5 type fractures?
Va Proximal tibial lateral plate
What proximal tibial plates are available?
VA PTP (lateral) 3.5mm LCP proximal tibial plate (lateral) 4.5mm LCP prox tib plate (lateral) LCP medial (shaped like T) LCP Posterolateral plate (spoon)
What sizes do the VA prox tib come in?
Small bend and large bend
L and right
Holes 4-14
What templates are available?
6 hole templates in both left and right and small and large bend (4 in total)
What screws are available with the VA PTP?
- 5 VA locking screws
3. 5mm cortex screws
What are the features of the plate?
It’s designed to be a fixed angle construct, with it rafting effect or the proximal screws is doesn’t rely on plate to bone compression to resist pt load.
How many holes are in the proximal head?
6 VA locking holes (4 in the first row and 2 under that) as well as 5 K wire holes.
What is in the next of the plate?
2 kickstand screws (one above and below the elongated hole to facilitate placement)
