What is one of the contraindications to starting interferon-alpha in viral hepatitis?
Depression (interferon-alpha can worsen depression)
Tx of serotonin syndrome?
-Supportive, Benzos, cooling and paralysis
-Cyproheptadine (5-HT antagonist) if Benzos are not working
What are the indications for ECT?
-Depression leading to food refusal and nutritional compromise
-Depression with catatonia
