how does the enviroment act 2021 affect biodiversity net gain
made it a legal requirement in england from febuary 12th 2024. enforceable under the town and country planning act 1990, developers are required to ensure developments achieve a minimum biodiversity net gain of 10% which is then retained for at least 30 years
what are public authorities
organisations that perform a public function, which include ministrel departments and local authorities
what are public bodies
publicly funded organisations that deliver a governement or public service but are not minestrial departments
what are conservation covenants
legally binding agreements between a landowner and a charity or public body to do (or not do) something to conserve the heritage or natural features of their land: these covenants msut deliver a public good but do not have to allow public access onto the land
