It’s show’s how many organisms are present at each trophic level. The size of each bar indicates the numbe rof organisms. It does not necessarily need to be in a pyramid shape.

It is the mass of the living organisms present at each level of a food chain. It is always in pyramid,od shape as the available biomass always decreases at a higher trophic level. However, in an aquatic ecosystem, the pyramid of biomass will be inverted because the producers are very small and have limited mass
