Can you tell me why you chose to study the A levels that you are?
-Biology
=always had a fascination with science from I was a young child (link to experience at St Conor’s open day)
=want to introduce more STEM related subjects at primary school levels, particularly for girls to allow them to help break down the gender associated stereotypes and to help them understand how their minds can shape the future
-Nutrition and Food Science
=links with my biology
=my main leisure time is cooking and baking for my family, have sold my cakes before at bake sales, developed my time management skills which is crucial for teaching
-English Literature
=mammy filled our house with books, link to Matilda being my favorite book
=through reading the texts associated with this subject gained critical analysis skills
Tell us a bit about yourself
-oldest of 6 children in a dual working household
-have always been given that responsible and mature role, particularly being called the young children’s second mammy
-As I discussed in my personal statement, lockdown, teaching the wains which was an extremely hard but rewarding experience that has given me a flavour of teaching
-mention ciaran, non verbal till he was almost 8 so had to adapt our way of life, various ways for communication like labelling household items and allowed me to increase my problem solving skills, using alternative communication methods
-in my free time baking, reading and volunteering at charity shops, cleaning the chapel and GAA for all
-at school I am part of the school council and deputy head girl which demonstrates by commitment to school life
