Evaluate the usefulness… (8)

Answer 1

• 2 marks for who/what/when = who wrote it and why? Do they have a specific agenda…?
• 2 marks for what the source says, then expand and make judgement as to why the comments are useful or not.
• 4 marks for omissions, find issues that the scourge fails to mention, any omissions make the source less useful.

Question 2

Analyse/to what extent (12)

Answer 2

3PAC (x3 for at least 12)

Make 8 points on how similar or different the source is for 8 marks =

Develop points a bit too, don’t just repeat what the source says.

Then make a conclusion at the end of the answer for 2 marks = in conclusion, we can see that the scourge is similar/ different from the modern world because…
However, we can also see that there are similarities/differences because…

How fully do the sources… (8)

Answer 4

You have to look at three sources; a modern source, an ancient source and a photo.

2 marks for each source but must be 2 developed points.

Then up to 4 marks available for developed omissions.
