Q

Why is William of Orange important?

A

He ruled as a CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCH, not an ABSOLUTE monarch as the previous monarchs had done, he ruled but had to collaborate with government. Gist of the kind = step towards more “democratic” thinking or at least more lenient thinking.
