Q

What is a vascular epulis?

Presentations?

A

Pyogenic granuloma
- reactive vascular lesion
- mainly on gingivae but can occur other sites
- usually as a result of trauma

15
Q

How commonly describe lesion such as PG / PGCG / FE

A

Localised hyperplastic lesion of the oral mucosa. Production of repair tissue (granulation tissue and fibrous scar tissue) as a consequence of tissue damage and chronic inflammation.

Q

What is squamous cell papilloma ?

A

Benign tumour of oral mucosa

  • pedunculated or sessile
  • warty / cauliflower like lesion with white or pink surface
17
Q

Histology squamous cell papilloma?

A

Finger like processed of hyperplastic squamous epithelium
- supported by thin cores of vascular connective tissue
- hyperkeratosis sometimes

18
Q

Cause SCP?

Investigate?

A

HPV infections

Not routinely done to investigate HPV
- SCP is non malignant
