Rooting
Stim: stroke corner of mouth, upper lip and lower lip
Response: movement of tongue mouth and or head
Function: locate feeding source at beginning of feeding

Suck-swallow
Stim: place index finger in infants mouth at midline
Response: strong, rhythmic sucking
Function: nutritive sucking for liquid

Traction
Stim: grasp infant’s arms and pull to sit
Response: complete flexion of UE
Function: promotes momentary grasp for child to hold onto mother when being pulled

Stim: rapidly drop infants head backwards
Response: arm extension, hand opening
Function: protective response to stress

Plantar Grasp
Stim: apply pressure with thumb on ball of foot
Response: toe flexion
Function: increases input to sole of foot
Onset: 28 wks gestation
Integration: 9 months
Galant
Stim: hold infant in prone suspension, gently tap or scratch spine with finger from shoulders to buttocks
Response: lateral trunck flexion and wrinkling of skin on stimulated side
Function: enhances trunk stabilization
Onset: 32 wk gestation
Integration: 2 months
ATNR
Stim: rotate infants head and hold for 5 seconds
Response: extension of extremities on face side, flexion of extremity on skulls side
Function: promotes visual attention to UE
Onset: 37 wk gestation

Palmar grasp
Stim: place a finger in infants palm
Response: finger flexion
Function: increases palmar tactile input, prepares for voluntary grasp

Tonic Labryinthe- Supine
Stim: Place infant in supine
Response: increased extensor tone
Function: allows pisture to adapt to that of head
Onset: moe than 37 wk gestation
Integration: 6 months
Tonic Labryinthe- Prone
Stim: place infant in prone
Response: increased flexor
Function: facilitates full body flexor tone
Onset: more than 37 wk gestation
Integration: 6 months
Landau
Stim: Hold infant in horizontal prone suspension
Response: complete extension of head, trunk, and extremities
Function: regulates tone, promotes prone extension to manage flexor tone
Onset: 3-4 months
Integration: 12-24 months
STNR
Stim: place infant in crawling position and extend head
Response: flexion of hips and knees
Function: facilitates quadraped for crawling
Onset: 4-6 months
Integration: 8-12 months
Neck righting on body (NOB)
Stim: place infant in supine and fully turn head to one side
Response: log rolling of entire body to maintain alignment with head
Function: facilitates rolling
Onset: 4-6 months
Integration: 5 years
Body righting on bod (BOB)
Stim: place infant in supine, flex one hip and knee toward chest and hold briefly
Response: segmental rolling of upper trunk
Function: promotes trunk and spinal rotation
Onset: 4-6 months
