Q

Purpose of R/R/R?

A

Scrooge has to be enlightened of his past actions to change and be put on this redemptive journey. he is trying to avoid the chains and the fate of Marley
it shows how scrooge changes and develops as a character from ignorant and unfeeling, to worrying about his past and being unable to be forgiven, to ashamed of recent cruel actions, to being shown the consequences of his actions in the future and being full of remorse, to changing and redeeming himself at the end
Dickens shows how even Scrooge made a change and he is an example kf how victorian aristocracy should also change
