Checkpoints
A
The cell cycle has 3 main checkpoints
1: G1 checkpoint, which ensures that the cell has enough nutrients and energy to proceed with DNA replication and cell division.
2: G2 checkpoint, which ensures that all DNA has been replicated correctly and the cell is ready to entre mitosis
3:M checkpoint, whcih ensures that all chromosomes are properly aligned and attached to the spindal fibres before the cell proceeds with cell division.
