Q

The risk of exposure to hazardous substances must be prevented. If prevention is not practicable, this risk must be minimised.

List the measures which must be taken to minimise the risk of exposure to hazardous substances.

A

A responsible person must reduce the risk of exposure to hazardous substances by means of preventing exposure to the substance by:

  • Limiting opportunity for potential exposure.
  • Using appropriate ventilation and engineering controls.
  • Adopting safe work practises.
