Q

What factors can affect reliability of diagnosis?

A

Patient factors - info may be inaccurate if they have memory problems or feel shame - diagnosis may differ between psychiatrists

Clinician factors - unstructured nature of clinical interviews - questions may differ meaning different information may be gathered - different diagnosis made
- also subjectivity may cause different diagnosis - may interpret symptoms differently
