Western

  • Follows the pope as the head of the church
  • Based out of Rome
  • Bases the belief off of the belief that God and the Church are immanent

Easterns

  • Many bishops make up the church with a Patriarch as the leader
  • Centered in Constantinople
  • Base there beliefs off the belief that God and the Church are transcendent
