mandated reporter
required by law to report abuse when there is reasonable suspicion. report to decision of child services and family services, child protective services, or law enforcement agency.
what is the proper procedure for dealing with suspected abuse?
call the LBA during or immediately following the client session. child abuse or neglect = DCFS/CPS no later than 24 hours after observed. write an incident report immediately following the session using the incident report form. put in compliance folder in client record and notify LBA

what do you do if learner engages in suicidal or death ideation or talks about self-harm or harm of others?
ask questions about their statement if you can. (open ended). determine if there is imminent risk. document in an incident report.

when to file report with DCFS/CPS
when you suspect abuse, neglect, exploitation.
when to file an incident report
property damage, indury or death to a client/employee, violation of any of our zero tolerance policies for in home services, sever challenging behavior not addressed in plan, other critical events.
violations in in-home services
fire arms must be unloaded and locked in a safe at all times while employees present. individuals in home must be free of influence of illegal substances.
when file data breach report
disclosure or suspected disclosure of PHI without proper patient consent.
when file compliance violation report
any errors in credidentialing. not following protocol. not recording data properly/purposefully inaccurately. reporting service times inaccurately. presenting themselves wiht incorrect credential. observe violation of. RBT code of ethics. violation of policy or practice within organization.
when file ethical violation report
violation of ethical code of conduct after first attempting to resolve the issue and documenting the steps taken.
what else do you have to do after filing report
notify supervisor. incident reports: create plan with client consultant. if telling parents would put child at harm, then Compliance director and CEO.

physical, emotional, neglect, sexual, statutory.
what should you do if you are unsure to report?
file one. side with protecting victim, yourself, and organization.
