+ Asch introduced a dissenter who gave the right answer on the line test and this meant conformity levels decreased to 5%
+ Milgram introduced 2 dissenters where one refused to obey past 150V and the other at 210V, 9 out of 10 pp’s didn’t continue to the 450V

+ Elms and Milgram (1974) wanted to investigate the background of disobedient pp’s in Milgram’s key study, disobedient pp’s had a high internal locus of control, high level of self esteem
