Q

What is cellular respiration?
What does it need?
What’s the formula?

A

Cells need energy to function. They get this from cellular respiration.
Respiration needs glucose and oxygen
The formula: oxygen + glucose -> carbon dioxide + water + energy

Q

What’s gas exchange?

A

When oxygen moves from the lungs to the bloodstream. At the same time carbon dioxide passes from the blood to the lungs. This happens in the lungs between the alveoli and a network of tiny blood vessels.

Q

What does the nose do?

What does the cilia inside of the nose do?

A

The nose is where we breathe most of our in and out of.
Large dust particles are filtered by hairs inside of our nostrils called cilia. Small particles and mucus is trapped by cillia. The cillia pushes the mucus into the pharynx.

Q

What does the trachea do and what is it made out of?

A

(the windpipe) carries warm, moist air out to the lungs.

It is made out of rings of cartridge to stop it from collapsing.

Q

What’s the diaphragm?

A

Bottom of the lungs. When inhaling it pulls air into the lungs. When exhales it relaxes and air is pushed out of the lungs
