Q

Parsons

A

education provides a bridge from primary to secondary socialisation and the bridge from particularistic values (specific/personal) t universalistic values (values of society taught via secondary socialisation/value consensus) which helps prep us for work. Socialisation is the process by which we learn Norms and values. Education is a form of secondary socialisation: students learn the formal curriculum as well as develop norms values and morals in the hidden curriculum (such as rules, respect, values, timekeeping)
