Very important, had to stay virgin for 30 years, if they betrayed their job they’d be locked in a coffin till they died, had to tend to an infinite fire.
Who are patrons and clients
Patrons are rich and powerful people who gave this to their clients, lower income citizens who did things for their patrons.
Summarize Nobility.
You were only considered nobile if someone in your family was on the council, power of nobility went away when emperors came into power.
Explain Senators.
Most powerful people in Rome, who’s position depended on wealth, heavily impacted by family status.
Explain Equestrians.
Consisting of Senators sons, local aristocrats, military/ administrative offices, rich land owners, and businessmen.They made financial decisions and if they joined senate they wouldn’t be an equestrian anymore.
Summarize plebians and Patricians.
Plebians are low class and free born, Patricians are wealthy and privileged.

Slaves that were released, but have limited rights.
Explain Roman citizenships.
You were born with it or given, you’re eligible for public office, you have a right to serve in the military, you’re protected under Roman law, your rights are restricted by property and birthday qualifications, and Julius Ceaser first started expanding out of Italy.
Summarize Household Slaves
They had affection for their owners did a lot of things like tutors, physicians, exc… Talented slaves came from Greece, they’d treat them well.
Summarize Roman Slaves
They were necessary because of Latifundia, if you had one that gave you a mark of status, you’d get them from war, Pirate raids, trade, and natural reputations, agricultural slaves were treated harsher than household Slaves.
Hierarchy of Roman society least to highest.
Slaves, Freedman/ Soliderss, Plebians, Equestrains, Patrians, Senators, emperor.
