Identify where you would check the engine oil level and tell me how you would check for sufficient oil

The motorcycle should be upright on level ground with engine off.

1. If sight glass explain the level should be between max and min markings on glass

2. For dipstick, first remove the dipstick, wipe clean, replace, then remove again to re-check.

check for wear, correct tension and rear wheel adjusted (as stated in the handbook) equally each side to maintain wheel alignment. Drive chain should be correctly lubed. also check for tight links.

Ideally with the motorcycleon the centre stand to lighten steering, handlebars should be free to move smoothly form lock to lock without any control cables being stretched, pinched or trapped and without snagging between moving or fixed parts.

Tell me how you would check your tyres to ensure they are correctly inflated and have sufficient tread depth and their general condition is safe for road use

Correct tyre pressure is checked when the tyres are cold and a reliable pressure gauge should be used. Tread depth should be a minimum of 1mm deep. forming a continuous band at least three quarters of the breadth of the tread and all the way round. The correct pressure can be found in the owners manual

wheel alignment forward and apply the front brake, check for excessive level travel and sponginess. check rear pedal for excessive travel, unusual play and sponginess
