Eight characters: refers to the four pillars. Each pillars is made up of two characters: heavenly stem 천간 and earthly branch 지지

Marital harmony: practice of predicting fortunes of a couple. Used to fully analysed before setting up marriage.
Analysis of a couple’s 사주 and 궁합 data requires through examination of all information to figure out if the couple are in harmony.
