सन्धि (Sandhi)
Sound changes occurring at the junction of two sounds or words.
संहिताक्रमः (Saṁhitākramaḥ)
Fluent recitation, where the sounds of words change.Continuous reading style where sandhi occurs.
समास (Samāsa)
Compound formation of two or more words into one word.
अन्तःसन्धि (Antaḥsandhi)
Internal sandhi occurring within a single word.
बाहिःसन्धि (Bāhiḥsandhi)
Sandhi occurring between two separate words.
उभयसन्धि (Ubhayasandhi)
Sandhi occurring both within a word and between words.
अच् सन्धि (Ac Sandhi)
Vowel sandhi — changes occurring between vowels.
हल् सन्धि (Hal Sandhi)
Consonant sandhi — changes occurring between consonants.
विसर्ग सन्धि (Visarga Sandhi)
Changes involving visarga (ः) at the end of words.
नित्यसन्धि (Nityasandhi)
Inevitable, constant sandhi that always occurs.
विकल्पसन्धि (Vikalpasandhi)
Optional sandhi that may or may not be applied.
आगमसन्धि (Āgamasandhi)
Sandhi where an additional sound is inserted.
आदेशसन्धि (Ādeśasandhi)
Sandhi where a sound is replaced by another sound.
एकादेशसन्धि (Ekādeśasandhi)
Sandhi where one sound is replaced by another, often for simplification.
धित्वसन्धि (Dhitvasandhi)
Sandhi where a voiceless plosive changes into a voiced plosive.
लोपसन्धि (Lopasandhi)
Sandhi involving the omission (deletion) of a sound.
प्रकृतिभावसन्धि (Prakṛtibhāvasandhi)
Sandhi where the original form (prakṛti) of a word remains unchanged.
