- Paré ran out of hot oil by chance, had to use the c r e a m (1537)

- Vesalius had to leave the University he was lecturing at, as his discoveries went against the word of Galen
- Harvey’s De Motu Cordis went against Galen, and would only really begin to be taught at university decades after his death. (published 1628)
BUT… - Paré combined his new findings with Galen’s methods on stopping blood flow, to prevent surgery deaths from blood flow. This benefitted medicine. (1537)

- Arguably the best technology was the printing press, which made books more widely available, making medical knowledge more accessible.
How was commuication a factor during the renaissance period?
The invention of the printing press in the 1940s helped books spread. Books were still used by many, e.g Vesalius detailing his dissection findings, and Paré both finding the rose oil method from a book, and writing his own about prosthetics.

During the Great Plague, governments took more action, for example quarantining ports and hanging crosses over infected houses, with guards watching over them.
