When the pollen grain lands on the STIGMA a pollen TUBEgrows down through the STYLE towards the OVARY
Describe the third stage of PLANT fertilisation
The NUCLEUS of the pollen grain then passes down the tube to fertilise the egg cell inside the ovule.

The fertilised egg cell develops into an embryo, the ovule becomes the seed and the ovary forms the fruit
