oxygen at high altitudes

A

there are fewer air molecules at altitude meaning there is less oxygen to transfer from the lungs into the bloodstream meaning we can’t carry as much oxygen to the working muscles in other words the bodys oxygen carrying capacity is reduced at high altitudes.
over time the body compensates for this by making more red blood cells to carry oxygen
