Specialized cells, ground substance, protein fibers (collagen, elastic, reticular).
What is ground substance?
Noncellular material between cells.
What is hyaline cartilage?
Fine collagen fibers.
Found in the tip of the nose, ends of long bones.
What is elastic cartilage?
Lots of elastic fibers.
Found in the outer ear.

Makes up the shafts of long bones.
What is spongy bone?
Inside the ends of long bones.
What are the two types of fluid connective tissue?
Blood and lymph.
What is blood made of?

Cells that carry oxygen.
What are white blood cells (leukocytes)?
Cells that fight infection.
What are platelets (thrombocytes)?
Pieces of cells that clot blood.
What is simple squamous epithelial?
