Q

Name the steps to listings under gonstead method

A

1) BE THE SPINOUS PROCESS..wherever it is shifted/malpositioned/deviated.
2) add P (1st letter)(refers to posterior translation) ..all gonstead refer to Posterior translation
3) Add R/L (2nd letter) refers to side with SP moved.
4) Add I/S ..refers to disc wedging/lateral tilting.

Q

Steps to national listings?

A

FOLLOW THE TP.

1) first letter will the R/L to which the TP has become more prominent.
2) Second letter: P: posterior translation of vertebral segment
3) I/S is 3rd letter. refers to disc wedging.

Q

Steps to list using medicare listings?

A

BE THE VERTEBRA and name it according to movement such as flexion/extension, left lateral flexion, right rotation and then add MALPOSITION at the end of it. remember listhesis means to slide and can be used in medicare listings.

Q

What are motion listings?

A

designates DYNAMIC listings. based on motion palpation or dynamix xrays. Uses standard joint motion terminology to describe the direction the joint will NOT move or has LACK OF springy end play.
Uses “RESTRICTION” at end of phrase.

Q

How do we record motion listings?

A

Use the star diagram that outlines: flexion/extension, right and left rotation and right and left lateral flexion. and use mild/moderate/marked indicators to illustrate where the restriction is.

Q

How do we use the orthogonal listings?

A

Origin: center of graph paper. Positive direction of axis is away from the origin and negative is toward origin. Translation movements along the positive direction are called positive and in opposite direction are negative. Clockwise rotation about an axis is positive and anticlockwise is negative.

Q

How do we use the right hand rule for orthogonal listings?

A

Point the right thumb in the positive direction of the axis. Movement around the axis in the direction that your fingers are pointing is positive rotation while movement around the axis in the direction that your fingers are NOT pointing is negative. Illustrated in the final notation at theta (+/-) about a particular axis

Q

What are the characteristics of a static listing?

A

Q

What are the characteristics of motion listings?

A

1) detected by motion palpation 2) decribe only the motion of the joint 3) gives no infomration about the position of the neighbouring bones (which can be neutral or malpositioned)
