What are the three main parts of the circulatory system?
The heart, blood, and blood vessels
What tissues make up the heart?
The cardiac muscle tissue, nerve tissue, and connective tissue
What are the four components of blood?
Red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma
What is the function of red blood cells?
Transports oxygen throughout the body and are the most abundant cell in the body
What is the function of white blood cells?
To fight infections and illnesses in the body.
What are platelets?
Small cells that aid in clotting blood
What is Plasma?
The liquid component of blood which is made up of protein and carries the blood cells and platelets
What is blood?
A type of connective tissue found throughout the whole body
What are the three main types of blood vessels
Arteries, veins, and capillaries
