If you obey the laws, God will be nice to you. (God’s love is unconditional!)
The most important part of Christianity
Community! We get this mostly through the church because many traditions and celebrations cannot be had alone. Christianity as a whole is relational and communal
What Christianity says about slavery
It’s bad! We are all one in Christ (all children of God), so we are all equals. Also we gained radical equality through God’s freedom
What the Bible says about slavery
ALL people were created in the image of God.
Paul says there is neither slave nor free. Welcome slaves as brothers.
God is on the side of the oppressed (?)
What Christianity says about caring for the environment
It’s important! Matter matters! God created it and all that God created is good so we need to keep it good. Look to Jesus’ habits of servanthood and stewardship to see how to treat it

Laws in the Bible about how to farm sustainably (let some land lay fallow) and kill animals sustainably without interfering with their reproduction
The main goal of justice
To make relationships right again. Instead of punishing the offender, help them get out of the cycle

Long history of misogyny and patriarchal practices, but maybe finally seeing that marginalization of women is bad
3 Biblical examples of gender equality
