It reacts under catalysis of peroxidase with phenol and 4-aminophenazone

Glucose + oxygen + water (GOD) ---> gluconic acid + hydrogen peroxide

2 hydrogen peroxide + 4-aminophenazone + phenol (POD) ---> quinoneimine + 4 water
