poor people who stood or sat on the group at the Globe Theater, they enjoyed the puns, crude humor, and prose

wealthy people who sat in seats along the sides of the Glob Theater, enjoyed the flowery verse

a literary device where there is a contrast or discrepancy between expectation and reality.
What is verbal irony?
happens when a speaker says something but means the opposite.
What is comedy?
refers to a genre of plays that are typically lighthearted, humorous, and end with a happy resolution
What was the Elizabethan period?
days of Queen Elizabeth (1558-1603), loved Theater, under her and King James, the Renaissance occured
