disease monitoring in SLE

A

inflam markers
- ESR generally used
- CRP normal in active disease - if raised think infection

complement levels = low if active disease

anti-dsDNA antibodies - but not present in all patients

A

hydroxychloroquine !!!

  • NSAIDs
  • sun-block

if organ involement - consider prednisolone, cyclophosphamide
