Q

What is Dorsi-flexion

A

Bending or flexing the toes up, closer to the shin

17
Q

Where is Dorsi- flextion and Plantar flexion located

A

Ankle

18
Q

An example of dorsi-flexion

A

A sprinter positions their feet in the starting blocks

19
Q

What is plantar-flexion

A

Extending or pointing the toes down, away from the shin

20
Q

An example of plantar-flexion

A

A floor gymnast points their toes

21
Q

Pivot joint with an example

A

Allow bones to rotate. Neck

22
Q

Hinge joints with an example

A

Allows only backwards and forwards movement. The knee

23
Q

Ball and Socket joints with an example

A

The rounded head of a long bone fits into a cup shaped hole. Hip

24
Q

Condyloid joints with an example

A

Similar to ball and socket however the ball rests against the end of a bone rather than inside a socket. Allows circular motion. Your wrist

25
Q

What is a tendon

A

non-elastic fibres that attach muscle to bone, and help to move them. Tendons let you apply power and movemet

26
Q

What is a ligament

A

Elastic fibres that join one bone to another, usually to hold things together and keep them stable
