Soc19: Shorts Term Effects Of Exercise Flashcards

1
Q

Negatives of Muscles Fatigue?

A

When you exercise, your muscles can feel weak, painful and tired.
This occurs as a result of anaerobic respiration

Q

Effects on the Heart?

A

When you exercise your heart beats faster - your heart rate is the number of times your heart beats per minute
• A trained athlete is likely to have a lower resting heart rate that someone who is untrained
• A trained athlete is also more likely to have a quicker recovery rate after exercise

Q

Effects on the Respiratory System?

A

• When you exercise you need to bring in more oxygen and get rid of more carbon dioxide
• Therefore as you exercise the depth and rate of your breathing increases
• When you exercise hard, you use up more oxygen than you take in. This shortfall creates oxygen debt
