Piaget had a theory of egocentrism. it was the idea that the child would not be able to see other peoples views. an example where this was seen was in the three mountains task. The child could not imagine what the other children might be seeing from a different angle.

The new born chimps brain is 60 % of the adult weight, whereas a new born childs brain is only 25% of the adult weight. The evolution of humans larger brain has meant that the majority of the development of the brain has to occur after birth.
