Q

How does Brown-Sequard Syndrome present?

A

Ipsilateral

  • Paralysis, loss of vibratory sense and proprioception
(due to damage to the corticospinal tracts and the DCML)

Contralateral

  • Loss of pain and temperature sense of the contralateral side of the lesion.
(due to damage of the anterolateral system; lateral spinothalamic tract)
