- they benefit from legislation as they still get paid while injured (prevent earning loss)
- performers are legally bound to a contract with a club, if broken there can be financial repercussions
- cannot commit illegal violent actions to harm other players
- players have no right to be harmed by spectators
- performers and sponsors must have legal responsibility to act accordingly with contract between each other

- duty of care to protect players safety
- if they show negligence, they can face penalties
- punishment if caught match fixing
- they have a degree of influence over result, often targeted by betting syndicates to impact game result

coaches and the law
A
- duty of care to protect performers
- recklessness in regards to player safety can get coaches sued
- coaches must ensure that them and their players are following correct health and safety rules at all time
- elite level coaches must ensure that players retrain from taking illegal supplements (financial and health consequence)
- must ensure players (especially kids) are free from any forms of abuse

- rules in place to ensue safety for all at events
- safety measures have been put in place to combat hooliganism
- known hooligans banned from live games
- if found taking part in violent behaviour they can be prosecuted by police
- they are required to ensure safety to own self and others
