  • they have a degree of influence over result, often targeted by betting syndicates to impact game result

  • duty of care to protect performers
  • recklessness in regards to player safety can get coaches sued
  • coaches must ensure that them and their players are following correct health and safety rules at all time
  • elite level coaches must ensure that players retrain from taking illegal supplements (financial and health consequence)
  • must ensure players (especially kids) are free from any forms of abuse

  • rules in place to ensue safety for all at events
  • safety measures have been put in place to combat hooliganism
  • known hooligans banned from live games
  • if found taking part in violent behaviour they can be prosecuted by police
  • they are required to ensure safety to own self and others
