Q
“Stars, hide your fires! Let not see my black and deep desires!”
A
By using personification, Macbeth asks the stars metaphorically to cover his ‘black and deep desires’ as in to cover his evil thoughts he has inside of him. He doesn’t want his intentions to be seen. He knows his ambition is evil and is having a damaging impact upon him, but he puts his priorities of being King first before. At this point of the play, Macbeth’s ambition is growing but has not yet reached its full potential.
