Measures separation anxiety, reunion behaviour, starnger anxiety, tests secure base concept - Observers use a 1 way mirror, record categories such as promixity and contact behaviours, contact maintaining behaviours etc, rate on 1-7 scale
Findings- 106 middle class infants observed
Type b( secure) harmonius and cooperative interactions, high exploration, moderate stranger anxiety, easily soothed seperation anxiety, enthusiastic reunion
Type A avoidant- high exploration, low stranger anxiety, no separation anxiety, avoids contact at reunion
Type C- low exploartion, high stranger anxiety, distressed in seperation, seeks and rejects upon reuinon
