2 → exterminating light - extinguishing the beacon of hope the spirity provdes - without acknowledging the past, scrooge is unable to transform, there is no hope.
3 → let there be light - religious connotations - connotations of supremity and divinity, powers almost God like to allow there to be light.
link → warmth the spirit provides is a common motif - connotes to loving compassion
