Describe the key Physical factors influencing populations?
A
- Climate = rainfall + temperature impact on food production + farming techniques, 5 degrees Celsius is the temperature needed for most plants to grow, tropical diseases like malaria + Ebola occur in warmer climates
- Soil = determines Agricultual output but GM crops can improve fertility
- Water supply = used for sanitation, hydration + industry, 95% of Egypt’s population (111million) live within 12miles from the Nile
- Geology – industry e.g. Rhine valley

- Industrial Revolution outputting food on a much larger scale
- ability to control disease – rapid rise in population and death rates dropped
